The Armored Group , a global leader in providing armored vehicles to NGOs, government entities, and high-net-worth individuals, is seeking an experienced Upholsterer for our new manufacturing facility in the UAE.
As an Upholsterer, you will be responsible for crafting, fitting, and installing upholstery components for armored vehicles. This role requires expertise in material handling, template creation, and applying specialized stitching techniques to deliver high-quality interiors that meet client specifications. Responsibilities
- Material Identification: Identify and select appropriate materials for automotive and armored vehicle upholstery, ensuring durability and compatibility with vehicle specifications.
- Template Creation: Develop and create templates for various interior components, ensuring accurate measurements for material cutting.
- Material Cutting: Accurately cut materials to match templates, optimizing usage for efficient production.
- Stitching and Sewing: Operate sewing machines to apply different types of stitches, delivering high-quality and durable upholstery finishes for armored vehicle interiors.
- Glue Application and Upholstery Fixing: Apply adhesives and securely fit upholstery components, ensuring strong and long-lasting installations.
- Upholstery Installation: Fit and install interior components such as seats, panels, and headliners for armored and automotive vehicles, meeting high-quality standards.
- Quality Control: Inspect completed upholstery work to ensure it meets TAG’s stringent quality standards for both armored and automotive vehicles.
- Collaboration: Work closely with production, engineering, and quality control teams to align with project timelines and specific client requirements.
Must Have
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in upholstery or automotive interiors.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years in automotive or armored vehicle upholstery.
- Proficiency in template creation, material cutting, and stitching techniques.
- Experience with various types of adhesives and upholstery fittings.
- Attention to detail and precision in crafting high-quality finishes.
- Fluency in English is required; proficiency in any regional languages Hindi/Urdu/Arabic languages is a plus.
- Physical Fitness: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, stand for long periods and lift or handle equipment and work in various weather conditions.
Nice to have
- Automotive Upholstery Certification: Additional certifications in upholstery or automotive interiors.
- Familiarity with Odoo or other enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
- Industry Knowledge: Understanding of the unique upholstery requirements for armored vehicles.
- Multilingual Skills: Proficiency in additional languages to improve communication with diverse teams.
