Draftsman
Role Overview
Purpose
The Draftsman is responsible for preparing detailed technical drawings and blueprints for armored vehicle modifications, ensuring compliance with design specifications, industry standards, and company requirements. This role supports the engineering team by translating concepts into accurate CAD drawings for manufacturing and assembly.
Job Responsibilities
- Create detailed technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD models for armored vehicle designs and modifications.
- Interpret and translate engineering sketches, concepts, and specifications into precise drawings.
- Ensure that all drawings comply with industry standards, customer requirements, and manufacturing capabilities.
- Revise and update existing drawings as per design changes or engineering feedback.
- Collaborate with engineers, production teams, and quality control to ensure technical feasibility and accuracy.
- Maintain organized records of drawings, revisions, and technical documentation.
- Assist in preparing BOMs (Bill of Materials) and technical documentation for production.
- Identify potential design or manufacturing issues and propose solutions.
- Work with various materials such as steel, composites, and ballistic glass in designs.
- Utilize 2D and 3D CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar) for drafting and modeling.
- Conduct technical research to support design improvements and material selections.
- Adhere to confidentiality agreements and protect proprietary design information.

Requirements
Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Drafting, or a related field.
- Certification in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar CAD software is a plus.
Experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience in drafting, preferably in the automotive, defense, or armored vehicle industry.
- Experience in sheet metal design, welding symbols, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) is preferred.
Skills
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or other 2D/3D drafting software.
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings, manufacturing processes, and material properties.
- Ability to interpret technical specifications and translate them into precise drawings.
- Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities to work with engineers and production teams.

Senior Design Engineer

Job Purpose
The Design Engineer is responsible for the design, development, and optimization of armored, civilian, and industrial vehicle platforms. This role focuses on creating CAD models, testing prototypes, and collaborating with various departments to ensure designs align with TAG’s high standards for safety, quality, and functionality. The position plays a key role in advancing innovative solutions to enhance vehicle performance and cost-efficiency.
- Key Responsibilities
- Product Design and Development: Develop armored, civilian, and industrial vehicle platforms and components, creating CAD models using SolidWorks to meet TAG’s design standards and specifications.
- Optimization and Testing: Conduct and analyze prototype testing, adjusting designs to enhance structural integrity, durability, and functionality.
- Technical Collaboration: Collaborate with production, procurement, and sales teams to integrate technical input and align designs with project objectives.
- Documentation and Compliance: Maintain accurate and comprehensive design records, calculations, and test results for regulatory compliance and certification.
- Continuous Improvement: Implement innovative design solutions, exploring new materials and techniques to improve cost-effectiveness and performance.
- Required Qualifications and Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in vehicle design, preferably in the armored or industrial sectors.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
- Experience with ERP systems such as Odoo.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes related to armored vehicle production.
- Industry Insight: Familiarity with vehicle safety standards, specialized materials, and current trends in the armored and industrial vehicle sectors.
- Physical Fitness & Office Ergonomics: Ability to work efficiently at a desk for extended periods, including frequent computer use, while maintaining proper posture.
- Language Skills: Fluency in English is required; proficiency in regional languages (Hindi, Urdu, Arabic) is a plus.
