Role Overview
Purpose
The Store Assistant is responsible for supporting the efficient operation of the store by managing inventory, organizing storage spaces, and assisting with the receipt and dispatch of goods. This role ensures accurate record-keeping and compliance with TAG’s inventory management processes.
Job Responsibilities
- Inventory Management:
- Assist in maintaining accurate stock records and updating inventory levels in the system.
- Conduct regular stock counts and report any discrepancies to the Store Manager.
- Goods Receipt and Dispatch:
- Assist with receiving incoming goods, verifying quantities, and inspecting for damage or discrepancies.
- Prepare and package goods for dispatch, ensuring proper labeling and documentation.
- Storage Organization:
- Organize and maintain storage areas to ensure easy access and efficient space utilization.
- Ensure goods are stored safely and in compliance with safety guidelines.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of goods received, issued, or returned.
- Prepare daily or periodic inventory reports as requested by the Store Manager.
- Customer Support:
- Assist internal departments with locating and retrieving items from the store.
- Respond promptly to requests for inventory information or materials.
- Equipment and Safety:
- Ensure all store equipment, such as forklifts or pallet jacks, is in good working condition.
- Follow safety protocols when handling heavy or hazardous materials.
- Other Duties:
